On Tuesday, May 7, 2024, Minebea received a letter of appreciation from Iwaki City Mayor Hiroyuki Uchida for its donation through the corporate version of the Furusato tax. On the same day, we are pleased to announce that we have completed registration as a carbon neutral supporting organization of Iwaki City.

Background of donation to Iwaki City and registration as a carbon neutral supporting organization
(headquartered in Iwaki City, Fukushima Prefecture; Satoshi Okura, President; hereinafter referred to as "Iwaki FC"), which operates the professional soccer team "Iwaki FC", has been supplying renewable energy electricity*1 to the clubhouse facility "Iwaki FC Park" since November 2022. We would like to share in and support the activities of Iwaki City, where many organizations, regardless of industry, are working together to realize a decarbonized society, and would like to take the opportunity of our relationship with Iwaki FC to donate to Iwaki City through the corporate version of the Hometown Tax and to register as an "Iwaki City Carbon Neutral Iwaki FC has also decided to register as a "Iwaki City Carbon Neutral Supporting Organization".
*1This refers to an electricity contract that uses electricity that is essentially 100% renewable energy through the use of non-fossil certificates designated for renewable energy.

Future
We support local decarbonization through our "CnaaS for Local "*2 service. In the future, as an Iwaki City Carbon Neutral endorsing organization, we intend to support the decarbonization efforts of Iwaki City companies and the city from many angles.
