Mitsubishi HC Capital and Chuo Denryoku to Provide Self-Commissioning Service to MinebeaMitsumi Group through Joint Venture LINETS - Low-Pressure Solar Power Generation Reduces Approx. 1,755t-CO2 per Year

Mitsubishi HC Capital Corporation and Chuo Denryoku K.K. have started providing "Jikotaku Support Service" (hereinafter referred to as "Jikotaku Support") to MinebeaMitsumi Co. From June to July 2023, Minebea Mitsumi Group's five offices and factories in the Kanto area will receive Non-FIT (non-FIT) support services.*1) additionality*2The Minebea-Mitsumi Group has begun supplying electricity from low-voltage solar power generation with high CO2Contribute to reductions in

Jikotaku Support is a one-stop support service that helps companies smoothly implement self-transmission of photovoltaic power generation, including development, maintenance, and management of power plants, various procedures with general transmission and distribution companies, etc. necessary to implement self-transmission, lease contracts for power plants, calculation of power generation forecasts, and submission of power generation plans. The program provides one-stop support for the various procedures with general transmission and distribution companies, etc., necessary for the implementation of self-transmission of electricity. Companies do not need to make initial investments in power plant development and can directly procure stable renewable energy (hereafter "renewable energy") power.

By using Jikotaku Support, the MinebeaMitsumi Group will use approximately 2.7 million kWh of renewable energy power annually from 27 low-voltage solar power plants (approximately 2.4 MW) that have a low environmental impact. Specifically, Minebea Mitsumi will use a total of 6 sites (approx. 0.5MW) at its Tokyo Headquarters, Fujisawa Plant, and Matsuida Plant, and Mitsumi Electric will use a total of 21 sites (1.9MW) at its Tama Headquarters and Atsugi Works, reducing the Group's overall CO2emissions are about 1,755 t-CO2The Company expects to reduce the number of

The MinebeaMitsumi Group will continue to promote GX (Green Transformation) to achieve its long-term environmental goal of reducing the Group's CO2 emissions by the year ending March 31, 2031, compared to the year ended March 31, 2021.2emissions by 30% (SBT (2°C target) compliance).

For this Jikotaku support, Mitsubishi HC Capital is providing financial support such as leasing of power generation equipment, while Chuo Denryoku is providing services such as imbalance. Mitsubishi HC Capital and Chuo Denryoku will contribute to the GX of the MinebeaMitsumi Group through the provision of Jikotaku support by LINETS.

Mitsubishi HC Capital and Chuo Denryoku, through LINETS, began providing jikotaku support to Chuo Denryoku in November 2022, and is now providing self-dispatch by solar power plants, with plans to reach 100 sites (approx. 10 MW) by September 2023. In the future, the MinebeaMitsumi Group will take the opportunity of providing this service in the Kanto area to accelerate the provision of Jikotaku Support to other Minebea Group sites and other companies, thereby contributing to corporate carbon neutrality and aiming for a generation scale exceeding 500 sites (50 MW) by the fiscal year ending December 2025. We will accelerate the provision of self-contained power generation support to other companies.
*1 Non-FIT: Electricity derived from renewable energy sources that does not rely on feed-in tariffs.
*2 Additionality: The steady increase in renewable energy generation as funds obtained from consumers are invested in additional renewable energy generation, specifically, in the construction of new renewable energy power plants.
