News Release
We are pleased to announce that our notification to the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, submitted in our capacity as a designated wholesale supplier (aggregator) under the Designated Wholesale Supply System, was accepted on May 14, 2026. (*1)
With this certification, we are now able to expand our aggregation initiatives to include distributed energy resources such as solar power plants and battery storage systems owned by third parties.

■What is a Designated Wholesale Supplier (Aggregator)?
A designated wholesale supplier (aggregator) is a business entity that aggregates, manages, and controls distributed energy resources—such as solar power plants and storage batteries scattered across various locations—to utilize them efficiently as a whole. By operating multiple resources as a single integrated system, they facilitate the effective utilization of renewable energy (hereinafter “RE”) and help balance electricity supply and demand.

■Background of Certification Acquisition
As renewable energy increasingly becomes a mainstay of the power supply, the environment surrounding distributed energy resources is undergoing significant changes, including the transition from the FIT system to the market-linked FIP system and the expanded use of grid-connected storage batteries. Consequently, asset owners are required to implement more sophisticated supply and demand management, including forecasting electricity market prices and addressing imbalances.
Leveraging the supply-and-demand management expertise and AI-driven forecasting technologies we have cultivated as a retail electricity supplier, we have promoted the efficient use of energy through the operation of our own resources. Going forward, we believe it is essential to expand these efforts beyond our own assets to include resources owned by third parties.
In light of these developments, we have filed a notification designating us as a designated wholesale supplier. With the acceptance of this notification, we will move forward with our aggregation initiatives, expanding our scope to include solar power plants and energy storage systems owned by third parties.
■Future Initiatives
Going forward, we will be working to provide aggregation services to power generators, consumers, and other entities that currently own or are considering acquiring distributed energy resources.
Specifically, we will explore ways to provide support by leveraging the demand-supply management expertise and forecasting technologies we have cultivated over the years, with a focus on assisting power generators that own FIT-qualified power plants with their operations following the transition to the FIP system, as well as supporting the operation of grid-connected storage batteries.
Through orchestration—the integrated management and control of multiple energy resources—we will maximize the value of distributed energy resources and contribute to the effective utilization of renewable energy and the stabilization of the power supply.
