News Release
First in Japan to establish an "area dedicated to side jobs," providing an environment conducive to side jobs even during the daytime and supporting further skill development.
〜Ÿ Creating an office environment that encourages employee communication and growth, and accelerating decarbonization
(Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Yasuzumi Tanji; hereinafter referred to as "the Company"), a climate tech company that takes on the challenge of solving social issues under the mission of "making decarbonization less of an intractable problem," announces that it will expand and relocate its Tokyo Head Office on November 6, 2023, in order to improve employee productivity in line with business expansion.

Background of Tokyo Head Office Expansion and Relocation
Our current business areas are distributed energy business, energy DX business, and green energy business, and the number of client companies facing challenges in promoting DX and contributing to carbon neutrality is steadily growing. In order to further expand the scale of our business, we are increasing our workforce, and the number of employees at our Tokyo headquarters location has increased 1.59 times over the past three years.
Under these circumstances, an office environment was needed that would allow for greater speed and quality in information sharing and discussions among employees within the Regil Group, thereby improving productivity.
The decision to relocate the Tokyo headquarters office was based on the desire to create an environment that would contribute to decarbonization by reducing the use of electricity in the office and the carbon footprint of employee commuting and business travel, without limiting the company's growth.
About the New Tokyo Headquarters Office
The new Tokyo headquarters office has a floor space of 400 tsubo (approximately 1.7 times the size of the former Tokyo headquarters office), two-thirds of which will be used as a "communication area" to promote face-to-face and online communication. In the office area, all seats will be equipped with 4K displays to improve work efficiency.
The most significant feature is that we are the first company in Japan to establish an "area dedicated to sideline work" (*1) as an environment that supports personal growth. Since we have introduced a super-flex system from 2020, we have created an environment where employees can move from the office of their main job to the area dedicated to their side jobs whenever they like, and focus on their side job duties or meetings without any hesitation. We support employees to improve their skills by experiencing "other cultures" in an environment different from that of the Regil organization to which they belong. In addition, the area dedicated to sideline work can also be used by visitors to our new office for work in their spare time.
Furthermore, with the new office, which is 1.7 times the size of the old one, located in the Marunouchi Trust Tower N adjacent to Tokyo Station, where transportation is convenient and renewable energy-derived electricity can be used, the integration of Tokyo offices has been realized, and we expect to reduce travel time and CO2 emissions required by employees during commuting and business trips, and improve operational efficiency in the future. The new office is expected to reduce travel time and carbon dioxide emissions and improve operational efficiency.
(*1) This is the first office in Japan to have a dedicated area for side work separate from the main office area (according to our research).

Comments from Hozumi Tanji, President and Representative Director
For the past 10 years, we have been moving from one building to another that is scheduled for demolition. We believe that an office is an investment in growth if we view it as an environment for growth and a place to express our corporate vision to our employees and customers. As a company with the corporate mission of "fighting social issues as a point of unity," I was personally involved in the layout design, considering the office to be a place that expresses our image as a point of unity. For example, we designed the office so that visitors can see the internal communication area from the visitor's area. We wanted our clients and other visitors to be able to see our employees working earnestly, enjoying themselves, and worrying about their work, and to better understand the company Resil.
In addition, we have set up an area dedicated to side jobs. We hear that many companies are promoting side jobs these days, but the reality is that it is difficult to communicate with clients and others as necessary in the early morning or after working hours of the main business. We believe that by providing an environment that facilitates side work and meetings during the daytime, we can expand the range of experience and results that can be achieved, and create a positive cycle that leads to results in our main business.
The relocation to the new office is the culmination of our efforts to solve social issues, conduct business, and support the growth of human resources, and is a declaration and a sign of our commitment to further growth.
■Regil's Supportive Environment for Personal Growth
To support employees in improving their skills, Rirel has been enhancing its self-learning support system by implementing the DX Human Resource Development Program (*2) and covering the cost of two books per month, seminar fees, and certification exam fees. In 2020, we introduced a super-flex system, a hybrid telecommuting system, and a three-day workweek to create a working environment that facilitates opportunities for personal growth.
A new area dedicated to side jobs will be established in November 2023 in the new office of the Tokyo Head Office to support the growth of employees by challenging themselves to take on side jobs.

About [Resil, Inc.
2004We are a climate tech company that develops distributed energy, energy DX, and green energy businesses, utilizing the foundation and know-how of the "condominium bulk power receiving service," which was commercialized for the first time in Japan in 2006. With the mission of "making decarbonization an intractable problem," we will contribute to society in the era of global boiling by building a distributed energy eco-system with these three businesses as pillars. In line with the renewal of our management structure, including business model reform and AI-based system development, we have changed our company name from Chuo Denryoku to Resil as of September 1, 2023, as the beginning of our second founding.
