Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) about changing the contracted capacity of electricity

Q. I would like to change my electricity contract capacity (amperage).

The availability and procedure for changing the contracted capacity varies depending on the region and contracted plan.
In the Kansai area, there is currently no contract capacity setting, so in principle, amperage changes are not accepted.
In the Kanto area, we can change the contract capacity. However, we may not be able to meet your request depending on the capacity of the entire condominium or the condition of the facilities. Please call our support center first.
For customers in the Chubu and Kyushu areas, and customers using tenant properties, please call the Support Center for information based on the region and contract.

Q. What procedures are required to change the contract capacity? (For Kanto area)

In the Kanto area, the procedure for changing the contract capacity requires the replacement of the ampere breaker in the distribution board in your home.
Please note that the customer's presence is required during installation, which may result in a temporary power outage.
After the application is submitted, the department in charge will adjust the installation schedule and contact the customer by phone. Please note that you may have to wait about one week after your application before we contact you.
Depending on the rules of your condominium, it may not be possible to increase the contracted capacity. Please check with your management company in advance.

Q. Does it cost anything to change the contract capacity? (For the Kanto area)

In the Kanto area, there will be an installation fee for the change of contracted capacity.
The installation fee is 5,500 yen (tax included). This fee will be added to the electricity bill for the month in which the installation is performed.
However, if a customer contacts us within one month of the move-in date to request a change in contracted capacity, the installation fee will be waived.
Please note that the basic charge will be changed from the charge for the month following the date of installation.

Q. How will my electricity rates change if I change my contract capacity?

Electricity charges are determined mainly by the sum of the monthly basic charge and the electricity volume charge based on the amount of electricity used (including the amount equivalent to the fuel cost adjustment amount and the amount equivalent to the levy for promoting renewable energy generation).
When the contracted capacity is changed, the basic charge will be changed to the amount corresponding to the capacity after the change. There is no change in the unit price of the electricity volume charge.
