News Release
Ltd. announces that on October 1, 2025 (Wednesday), it began an operational demonstration of EV car sharing at Kanazawahakkei Park Homes, a condominium complex located in Kanazawahakkei, Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture (hereinafter "the Demonstration").
This verification experiment will be operated exclusively for residents for a limited period of one year to collect data on EV car sharing demand and operation status, and to verify the practicality of a car sharing service that utilizes EVs as "running storage batteries. The results of this operational verification will be utilized in efforts to strengthen disaster resilience using EVs, based on the "Cooperative Agreement for the Promotion of the Introduction of Renewable Energy Electricity to Collective Housing in Yokohama City" (concluded in October 2024).

■About this verification
Background and Objectives
As disasters become more severe due to climate change, there is an increasing need for people to prepare for disasters on their own. Amid concerns about the shortage of evacuation shelters, condominiums, which are robust structures, are encouraged to "evacuate at home" to remain in their homes in the event of a disaster, and the usefulness of storage batteries as an emergency power source is attracting attention. Storage batteries also play an important role in the spread of renewable energy, as they enable adjustments to be made in response to power generation and demand, contributing to the stabilization of the entire power grid.
Despite this usefulness, the location of storage batteries in condominiums is often a challenge.
In response to this issue, we have been working to realize a system in which EVs are used as "running storage batteries" and can be used as car-sharing vehicles that contribute to the convenience of residents and the added value of condominiums during normal times and can also function as a power source for common facilities during emergencies, without the need to provide new installation space in the condominiums. In the event of an emergency, the car-sharing system can also function as a power source for common facilities.
In the course of these efforts, we have entered into a collaboration with REXEV Corporation (headquartered in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Ken Watanabe, President & CEO; hereinafter "REXEV"), which has a proven track record in the operation of EV car sharing services. (headquartered in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Ken Watanabe, President & CEO; hereinafter "REXEV") to verify the practicality of EV car sharing in condominiums.
Prior to the launch, a technical demonstration was conducted at the condominium on Friday, September 19, 2025, to confirm that the EVs can automatically supply power to the condominium's water pump in the event of a power outage. The demonstration also verified that when two EVs are connected and one stops supplying power, the other automatically switches to the other and continues supplying power.
As the next step, a one-year demonstration will be conducted with the aim of understanding the operation status and demand for residents-only car sharing, as well as to verify its practicality as a mechanism that can combine daily use with disaster prevention functions.
<Outline of this demonstration
Location:Kanazawa Hakkei Park Homes
Implementation period: October 1, 2025 (Wed.) - September 30, 2026 (Wed.)
Vehicle used: Nissan LEAF (battery capacity: 40 kWh)
Usage fee: 308 yen/15 minutes (tax included), 264 yen/15 minutes (tax included)*.
Hours of operation: 24 hours a day (excluding cleaning and maintenance periods)
Method of use: Reservations via dedicated app
*Plans vary depending on the frequency of use. In addition, this service is offered only to residents of the condominiums at the demonstration site, and prices may change at the time of future deployment.
■Future Outlook
This demonstration is intended to verify the practicality of the system through one year of operation and to explore the possibility of future deployment. Based on the results obtained, we aim to realize solutions that contribute to solving social issues through collaboration with various energy-based fields, with a view to applying the system to condominiums and communities nationwide.
